1. SERVER REQUIREMENTS
To install Aplomb Poll, you will require PHP installed on your
server, along with sufficent webspace to store your poll data
and the actual script. The ZLib extension is optional, and
not required, but if it is installed, you can take advantage
of compression of backups.

2. INSTALLING
Firstly, extract all the files from the Aplomb Poll 1.1
distribution package. At this stage, you may choose to open up
config.php, to set a few values. Don't worry about this however,
as it is possible to edit these directly from the Admin CP.
Upload all the files, and CHMOD the "db" folder, the "backup"
folder and the "config.php" file, to 666. If this fails, try
777. You should be able to CHMOD with your favourite FTP client.
After uploading, just access admin.php. The password will be
"password", unless you decided to change it.

If you completed all the above steps successfully, well done.
You should now go to the Options page, to change your password,
enter the address of your website, and the poll script. It is also
a good idea to navigate to the "File Checker" tool in the Tools
Menu. This tool will check all required files exist, and are
CHMOD-ed correctly.

3. UPGRADING
To manually upgrade from Aplomb Poll 0.9 or 1.0, just simply
upload everything, except from the "db" folder. An automatic
upgrader from Version 0.9 and 1.0 to Version 1.1 should be
avaliable for download from the Aplomb Scripts website, which
makes upgrading easy for users who do not wish to manually
upgrade.

4. WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 1.1
In short, lots ;-). We've added dozens of new admin features,
including backup, mass lock, mass unlock, mass delete, and
a file checker for help with permission errors. A extension
checker also exists to check if some extensions Aplomb Poll
can use exist. We've also added a web-based Options editor,
which can change various things in your poll script, without
the need to hand-edit config.php. The revamped voting page
now shows percentages too. For the full list of changes in
Version 1.1, refer to changelog.txt.

5. HELP
When I try to access the script, I get a page of code. Why?
This is most likely because PHP isn't installed, or isn't enabled.
Contact the web host to get PHP installed.

Why do I get a permissions errors?
This is likely because either the "db" or "backup" folders, or
"config.php" are not CHMOD-ed correctly. Use the File Checker,
avaliable from the Tools menu in the Admin CP to check
the permissions.

Further help is available on the Aplomb Scripts website.

6. VERSION 1.1
Version 1.1 is the fourth public release of Aplomb Poll, following
on from the success of Aplomb Poll 0.9, 1.0 Beta 1, and 1.0 Final.
With dozens of improvements, Version 1.1 improves on 1.0, and makes
it even more powerful then before, whilst keeping the pros of Version
1.0, including it's flat-file database, and speed.

7. FUTURE VERSIONS
It is likely another release or two will be made in the Version 1.x
series. We can't give a release date, but it is likely to be
quite a bit after the release of Version 1.1, as Aplomb Scripts
starts to concentrate on a few of our other projects.
